My name is Gavin Alvarez-Bynum, and I work as a print shop designer, salesman, and custom designs director. My job as a designers is to create innovative designs for clients. My job as a salesman is to help guide customers in the print shop For example, these are some of the tools and products that were made by me in the Print shop.
The Print Shop is a student-based Internship Business's, where we produce and sell products to customers. We're a team of student who specialize in different areas. The experience was like an actual job that we had to clock in and clock out.
Working in the Print shop allowed me to gain, communication, collaboration, multi-tasking, management and professionalism.
One of the things that I liked working in the print shop, that it was almost like a second family.
The Print Shop was a positive working environment and there was no drama. People in our class always strived to become better workers, and built our colleagues around us giving each other positive feedback
This is the Roland printer, we use this printer when we want to create stickers, clothing designs , using heat transfer and vinyl. This is the printer my coworker cody works with
This is the work space for a cashier worker, but usually our customers would come here to purchase one of our products or pick up their products from the custom order they commissioned.
This is the Printer that we use for UV Printing Canvases, or maybe things like a game board
I work with custom orders, and we'll ask you what features you want on your design. When we're done discussing your custom order, we would estimate the time to pick up and the estimated cost of the product.
MY INTERNSHIP PROJECTS
Winship 5k
The Winship 5k is a race Alan suffered from Melanoma Cancer and Beat the disease. Alan's family wanted us to make a design that wanted to represent beating Melanoma Cancer during the 5k race.
Shell-fie
My Boss, Mrs Wright, sister was having a birthday party for her 1st birthday party. So she asked me to create a poster design for her1 year old baby!
Team USA Commission
During this time, the World Cup was happening. A Client of min, Mrs. Sholtz asked me to create a USA Team Onesie for their child. The Commission was a success. It was a great time working with the client.
Car Decals
Sometimes in the the Print Shop, we would receive commissions that we're quick and easy. He wanted a car decal that promoted his Instagram.
Pro Elevate
ProElevate was created by Jarret Christian. His purpose is to help students receive scholarships to Division 2, 3 and 4 in Sports.
Sports Insurance
Mrs. Wrights Dad reached out to the Print shop, and one of my co-workers, Clyde to help with making a Newsletter for the company. Clyde needed more hands on the project, so me and Khasan collaborated and created our own individual pieces for the company.
Custom order (Beanie)
During this time it was cold, and beanies were trending again so a client asked me to create a custom order beanie that read out his Instagram username. This was different for me because it was the first time I ever created a beanie design.
Women in Stem
This project was to support women in stem. The different colors in the finger nails were suppose to represent diversity, while the flask was to represent stem. Although my design wasn't my clients final decision, i felt a need to showcase this, because i liked how it turned out.
